Brazilian law firm Lefosse has hired infrastructure lawyer Miriam Signor from Stocche Forbes Advogados to strengthen its projects team.
Signor joins as a partner and head of project finance and project development and will be based in the firm’s Sao Paulo office. She brings with her more than 20 years of experience advising developers on large projects in various regulated sectors and supporting them through complex negotiations.
Rodrigo Junqueira, managing partner of Lefosse, said: “Miriam is recognised in the market for her multidisciplinary approach, with expertise in structuring, development, financing and monitoring of infrastructure and industrial projects and outstanding performance in the areas of banking and mergers and acquisitions.”
Signor spent almost a decade at Brazilian peer Stocche Forbes, according to her LinkedIn page.
Signor said her arrival at Lefosse helps “to meet the growing demand for expertise in all stages of developing infrastructure projects, which require a complete platform of advice and work in synergy with various practices.”
Signor is one of a handful of recent partner recruits at Lefosse, following the arrival of competition and antitrust lawyer Paula Azevedo last month. That coincided with the firm’s office opening in Brasilia where Azevedo is based, its third location in the country, adding to its footprint in Sao Paulo and Rio de Janiero. Azevedo joined from Brazil’s competition regulator CADE.
Last month the firm also made a twin partner hire across its restructuring and disputes practices. Insolvency lawyer Felipe Camara joined from E.Munhoz Advogados, while dispute resolution lawyer Julio Neves joined from TozziniFreire Advogados.
And in December, Lefosse hired life sciences and healthcare partner Rubens Granja and team from Kestener, Granja & Vieira Advogados. Lefosse now has more than 50 partners firmwide in Brazil and operates across more than 20 practice areas.
Elsewhere in Latin America, Holland & Knight last month added a six-strong capital markets team in Mexico City from DLA Piper, led by partner Xavier Mangino.
