Signature Litigation has hired litigation lawyer Jérémie Fierville as a partner in its Paris office along with two associates. 

The move follows an agreed merger with Fierville’s name practice, a French dispute resolution boutique he founded eight years ago following a nine-year stint at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer.

The hire comes seven months after the departure of Fierville’s former fellow name partner, Marie-Aude Ziadé, to CBR Advocats.

With experience in both Paris and London, Fierville has developed a strong expertise in corporate, shareholder and financial disputes. He acts for a broad range of French and international companies and financial institutions, which he represents in strategic pre-litigation and litigation matters, as well as mediation proceedings. He also lectures in dispute resolution and business law at University Paris Panthéon-Assas. 

Fierville joins Signature Litigation alongside senior associate Luca Bódi and associate Arthur Lamandé. His arrival brings the partnership to twenty, while he is the firm’s fifth partner in Paris.

Thomas Rouhette, the founding partner of Signature’s Paris office welcomed the arrival, noting that Fierville’s extensive experience would help the boutique further grow its Paris partnership, which launched in 2019 on Rouhette’s arrival from Hogan Lovells with fellow partner Sylvie Gallage-Alwis.

Fierville said he was enthusiastic about the move, not least because of Signature’s disputes-only practice, citing the firm’s legal excellence, operational efficiency, and bench strength, with over 70 lawyers across three offices in London, Paris and Gibraltar. 

“With my team, I am pleased to be able to bring my expertise in corporate and financial disputes to the Paris office,” he added. 

His arrival follows that of dual-qualified French and English arbitration partner, Tsegaye Laurendeau, in September from Gaillard Banifatemi Shelbaya Disputes, while fellow arbitration specialist, Neil Newing, was promoted to partnership in October 2022 after serving five years as counsel. However, the firm saw revenue growth slow to 1.4% in 2022 after a bumper 2021.

In February, the firm achieved a notable early victory in ongoing early litigation regarding secret commissions against IP firm Marks & Clerk in class action proceedings led by Peter Rouse as lead claimant, instructing Nico Leslie of Fountain Court as counsel. 

The hires comes on the same day that London disputes boutique Seladore Legal secures its fifth partner, Dan Hudson, who has joined from Herbest Smith Freehills to launch a white-collar and regulatory disputes practice.
